Abstract:
PURPOSE: To drive a multiple-phase DC motor in response to a clear and instantaneous position display of a rotor by providing a circuit for determining a time when a voltage that is received from a back electromotive force amplifier crosses zero from a predetermined direction. CONSTITUTION: A motor controller 10 supplies a drive voltage to output terminals OUT-A, B, and C by a power stage 11, the power stage 11 supplies a sequential control output signal to each output terminal by a sequencer circuit 13, and a signal interface circuit 12 supplies an output signal from the sequencer circuit 13 to the power stage 11. Further, each output terminal is connected to an electromotive force sensor amplifier 14 switchably and supplies a signal to a zero cross detection circuit 16, supplies an input signal to a digital delay circuit 17, and the output controls the operation of the sequencer 13. As a result, when detecting that a rotor is actually at a desired position, a mask for prohibiting the detection of zero cross of the back electromotive force during a predetermined amount of time after rectification sequence change is given.
