Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to reduce considerably an area which can not be visualized, to construct a visualizing system effectively, to reduce a dead angle, to reduce the effect of positioning precision, vibration, etc., produced by driving of a transducer and thereby to improve the quality of an image and further to attain miniaturization and weight reduction of an integrated type multitransducer for reception, simplfi-cation of a structure and an improvement in a leak performance, in addition.
CONSTITUTION: When inspection of a structure being present in sodium of a sodium-cooled type reactor and detection of an extraneous substance therein are conducted, an ultrasonic beam is applied to an object 103 from a transducer 102 for transmission while the transducer 102 for transmission and an integrated type multitransducer 101 for reception are moved relatively. The ultrasonic beam reflected on the object 103 is received by the integrated type multitransducer 101 for reception, processed by a signal processing device 104 and visualized by an image monitor 105.
