Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for extending the communication capability of a radio wave tower without interrupting broadcast and any radio wave disturbance.
SOLUTION: In the case of extending the communication capability of a radio wave tower by sequentially changing connection of existing antennas 1a-1n forming a longitudinal array on an antenna support pole 5 into updated antennas 10a-10n started from the lowermost end of the existing antennas by using this extension method, a radio wave interference prevention means 15 consisting of an upper umbrella 16 and a lower umbrella 17 is fitted to the antenna support pole 5 at a part beneath the lowermost antenna (e.g. 1n) in antennas whose connection is not changed. A hollow new iron tower piece 7 provided with an update antenna (e.g. 10n) corresponding to the lowermost end antenna whose connection is not changed is fitted to the radio wave tower 2 at a position between the upper and lower umbrellas 16, 17 of the radio wave interference prevention means 15. The connection of the antenna feeder is changed into the corresponding update antenna when the broadcast by the lowermost end antenna whose connection is to be changed is stopped. The connection change is sequentially made and completed through the repetitive connection change as above. For further extension, the existing antenna support pole 5 is removed through a hollow part in an array of new iron tower pieces 7, an additional antenna 18 is pushed up toward the upper part of the new iron tower pieces 7 and fitted to the radio wave tower 2.
