To provide a method for extracting rice embryo by which embryo classified, in high purity, from rice bran generated when polishing unpolished rice while being a simple method.
The method for extracting rice embryo comprises the following process: classifying embryo from rice bran after polished; and soaking the classified embryo groups in salt water to precipitate the embryo followed by drying and desalting the precipitated substance comprising the embryo group. The classification may comprise either sieving classification, wet classification or dry classification. The method for extracting rice embryo comprises a first extract progression comprising embryo classification from rice bran after polished where small diameter rice bran is separated from the embryo, and a second extract progression comprising soaking the embryo group increasing the ratio of the embryo except for the rice bran pieces so as to precipitate the rice embryo to separate the embryo and rice bran fine pieces of other rice bran from the embryo group based on gravity difference. The salt concentration of salt water used in the method corresponds to about 10 wt.%.
