Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save a gas removal process and to improve quality and yield of a material subjected to extrusion by executing high speed forwarding of an extrusion stem until it is inserted onto an end surface of the extrusion stem side of a container, stopping the extrusion stem for a short time after the insertion, and closing seal blocks of two halves to vacuum-deaerate the container.
SOLUTION: A billet 13 is a container 1 is pushed-in by an extrusion stem 14 provided behind the fillet, the billet 13 is pushed against a die 3, and then the billet 13 is squeezed and the air between the container 1 and the billet 13 is compressed. This air must be suction-deaerated from the rear side of the container 1 before the billet 13 is extruded from the die 3, and further must be suction-deaerated from both the sides of the container 1 just before the billet 13 in the container 1 is pushed by the extrusion stem 14 in the rear of the billet and the tip end of the billet 13 is pushed against the die 3. For this reason, the air in the container 1 is forcedly vacuum-deaerated on the extrusion stem side of the billet 13 earlier than the billet 13 is compressed by the extrusion stem 14.
