Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for filtering a thermoplastic polymer by which the flow rate distribution of a molten polymer in filter housing is narrowed, the stagnation of the polymer is suppressed and the formation of a gelatinized polymer is inhibited.
SOLUTION: Three or more leaf disk filters are superposed through a center shaft with a polymer passage and they are housed in housing. A molten polymer introduced into the housing is passed through the filters and transferred to the polymer passage of the center shaft. Pressure drop by at least one of the top and bottom leaf disk filters is made smaller than that by the middle leaf disk filter.
