To provide a method for fixing a cover plate of an internal cylinder for producing a rammer, and rammer using the same which can realize the fixing of the cover plate of the internal cylinder as well as the prevention of galling of the internal cylinder to an external cylinder within the same single process.

A rammer 1 includes: a piston rod 8 which vibrates by power from an engine 2; vibration transmission mechanisms 14, 15 for transmitting the vibrational motion of the piston rod 8 to a ground leveling shoe 5; and an internal cylinder 16, which holds the vibration transmission mechanisms 14, 15, of which bottom is blocked by the ground leveling shoe 5, in which upper part there is a cover plate 24 allowing the piston rod 8 to pass therethrough, on the inner surface of which there is a receiving part supporting the cover plate 24. In the rammer 1, the cover plate 24 is mounted on the receiving part, and a bent part is formed in such a way that a peripheral wall of the internal cylinder 16 is bent inward at the upper position than the cover plate 24, and finally the cover plate 24 is clamped and fixed between the bent part and the receiving part.
