PURPOSE: To fix a grinding work with its specified face parallel to the flat face of a holder by utilizing the phenomenon of total reflection.

CONSTITUTION: Applying light from a light source 5 to the flat face 2 of a holder 1, the light source 5 and an eyepiece lens 6 are fixed at the state where the light is reflected totally. Next, a grinding work 3 is glued on the flat face 2 with its grinding face A upwards, the titling of the face A is adjusted to that the light from the light sousce 5 may be reflected totally by the whole face A, and the work 3 is fixed to the holder 1 by the hardening of the adhesive 4. By so doing, the work can be fixed with its grinding face A parallel to the flat face 2.
