To provide a method of fixing a packing member incorporated into an electrophotographic photoreceptor which can be mass-produced with high productibity and whose fixation is hardly released and which suppresses a vibratory sound, without using an adhesive with a possibility of generating deformation and unsuitable for recycling of used electrophotographic photoreceptor, and to provide an electrphotographic photoreceptor and a process cartridge for electrophotograpy.

In the method of fixing a packing member 2 incorporated into a cylindrical electrophotographic photoreceptor 12, the packing member 2 is fixed in the electrophotographic photoreceptor 12 by fitting a cylindrical fixing member 6 having a taper 8 which can be fitted into a gap between a taper 4 of the packing member 2 formed at least on one end of the axial direction and the inside wall of the electrophotographic photoreceptor 12. The electrophotographic photoreceptor and the process cartridge for electrophotography are formed by fixing the packing member by this method.
