PURPOSE: To achieve in a projectile a greater ability in the pursuit of a target and in the piercing of an armor by deflecting the direction of a thrust, set appropriately respecting the working time and the magnitude, with respect to the airframe axis and by producing a lateral acceleration by means of a component of a thrust vector which is perpendicular to the speed vector.
CONSTITUTION: Under an appropriate control of the working time and the thrust and by deflecting the direction of the thrust with respect to the airframe axis L as shown by a thrust deflection angle 6 a guide airframe is given a moment of rotation 7, that is, put in a state 8 given a moment of rotation not by aerosteerage but by a modification in thrust. This moment of rotation is made to modify an attitude angle: by utilizing a leaning condition 10 in attitude with respect to the speed vector 9 of the guided airframe a lateral acceleration is produced by a component 11 which is perpendicular to the thrust vector 9; a suppressing force 12 which is due to an angle of attack is then used as an auxiliary force in the lateral acceleration. This achievement of a trajectory featuring a higher flight and an acute turn followed by nose diving from high above makes interception at greater speed possible.
