Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for following a vehicle in a train, which includes a locomotive, loaded with a transceiver for communication between a receiver of a wide area measuring system(GPS) and a central station.
SOLUTION: In this method for following a train, each following device 10A-10D having a storage battery as a power source is fitted to each vehicle in the train, and plural following devices of the train from a local area network. One following device, for example, the device 10A is selected as a control following device of the local are net work, and each following device periodically reports each identification mark to the control following device. The control following device 10A maintains a list of the following devices on the basis of the identification mark, and periodically reports the list to a transceiver, and the GPS position and the list is periodically reported from the transceiver to the central station.
