To provide a method capable of assuring improved results of a cold deformation or capable of achieving formation of a predetermined component shape from the very start and a plate bar having improved deformation possibilities and a desirable usage of this kind of plate bar.
A method in the invention to form a component R cold-deformed from a thin steel plate includes the following processes: A process to form the plate bar from a base thin plate composed of No.1 steel stock, a process by which at least one portion of the base thin plate is substituted by thin cut pieces 1, 2 different from No.1 steel thin plate in its thickness and/or at least one material characteristic and in this process, the thickness of the thin cut pieces 1, 2 or the different material characteristic and geometric arrangement and its position inside the plate bar are determined by the flow of the materials during the cold deformation performed next and a process to cold-deform the plate bar into the component R.
