Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for forming a glass lens in high moldability while suppressing the deformation of the original shape of the glass raw material in the thermal softening process.
CONSTITUTION: A preheating chamber 2 containing a heater 5 is connected to a forming chamber 4 via a halogen lamp 3. The forming chamber 4 contains vertically movable upper mold 6 and lower mold 7 and heaters 8, 9 surrounded by heat-insulation materials 10, 11. A heating plate 13 is placed at the focus of a pair of oppositely placed halogen lamps 3.
