PURPOSE: To prepare a book cover having high similar glossy and flexible applied with a protective top coat and printed in electrophotography system.

CONSTITUTION: This method for forming highly glossy protection coating on image, consists of a step for providing an image onto a supporting material 25, a step for providing a carrier base 117 provided with adhesive coating 118 on one side, a step for bringing the image on the holding material 25 into contact with one side of the carrier base 117, a step for simultaneously applying the heat and pressure of prescribed values to the carrier base 117 and the image on the supporting material 25 for forming highly glossy protection coating 118 on the image by dissolving adhesive coating 118 of the carrier base 117 and adhering it to the image on the supporting material 25, and a step for separating the carrier base 117 from the supporting material 25.
