To provide a method for forming an image by using a heat developable photosensitive material having high sensitivity suitable for X-ray imaging, in particular, to provide a method for forming an image by using a heat developable photosensitive material having high sensitivity and low fog suitable for mammography and having excellent image storage property after development.
The method for forming an image is carried out by using a heat developable photosensitive material having an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ion and a binder on at least one surface of a supporting body. The method is characterized in that: an X-ray sensitizing screen is closely attached to the surface of the photosensitive material where the image forming layer is formed on the supporting body; and an image is formed by irradiating the photosensitive material with X-rays through the opposite surface of the photosensitive material to the image forming layer side.
