PURPOSE: To form the peripheral part of a contact lens into a curved shape with high precision and also with high efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: A laser beam 12 emitted from a laser light source 20 is made into an annular shape by a mask 15 and is applied on an image-forming lens 16 when it is converged on a focus 14 by a converging lens 13 and diffuses. Then, by the image-forming lens 16, an annular laser beam 18 is applied on the peripheral part of a contact lens 11. By the annular laser beam 18 to be applied, the peripheral part of the contact lens 11 is cut. After that, the inside diameter of the annular laser beam 18 is changed, and it is applied on the different peripheral part in the contact lens 11.
