The method for forming aspheric toner particles by limited coagulation includes a process for forming an organic phase consisting of a polymeric material, a pigment, a quaternary ammonium tetraphenylborate salt, a phosphonium salt polymer produced by condensation of at least one kind of dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid ester monomer with at least one kind of diol monomer, and a liquid immiscible with water, wherein at least one kind of the above acid or ester monomer contains a triaryl phosphonium salt group; a process for dispersing the organic phase in an aqueous phase containing a solid colloidal stabilizer; a process for producing a suspension liquid of small droplets of the organic phase in the aqueous phase by high shear agitation; a process for forming a suspension liquid of solid particles in the aqueous phase by removing the liquid immiscible with water from the droplets; and a process for separating the solid particles as nonspheric toner particles and drying the particles.
