Excessive phase-change ink 8 being scraped off by a doctor, the phase-change ink filled in cells formed on the plate cylinder 1 is transferred for printing to a web 7 to be printed which is passed between the plate cylinder 1 and an impression cylinder 2. Then, the phase-change ink transferred to and printed on the web is exposed to cool air blown from a cool air device 6 to be solidified rapidly.
