Abstract:

To provide a method and a device for quickly selecting a device desired by a user among a plurality of reproduction devices on a home network and reproducing contents included in a portable device via the selected device.

This method for identifying a specific apparatus on a UPnP network includes a step for receiving descriptions from a plurality of content reproduction devices, a step for displaying an apparatus list about a plurality of content reproduction devices by using the received descriptions, a step for selecting one item among the apparatus list by a user, a step for transmitting a message requiring an apparatus report from the content reproduction device matching the selected item, and a step for performing an apparatus report by the content reproduction device to which the message is transmitted.
