To eliminate the need for the inspection of water-barrier properties mostly, and to improve water-barrier properties by a method wherein a sheet holder, in which an impervious sheet in length corresponding to the overall length of an impervious wall is housed, is installed into an excavated ditch, the ditch is excavated, the impervious sheet is extracted from the sheet holder and arranged into the ditch, and the ditch is buried.
An impervious sheet holder 3 has a discoidal table on the bottom plate of a hollow cylindrical housing, and an impervious sheet roll, in which one impervious sheet 13b having length corresponding to the overall length of the impervious wall and width corresponding to the depth of a ditch 2 is wound on a core material, is housed in the impervious sheet holder 3. Trench excavators 1 self-advanced on ground surfaces on both sides of the ditch 2 excavate the ditch 2 in the direction of the impervious wall to be executed, and a stabilizer such as bentonite is infected into the excavated ditch 2. The impervious sheet holder 3 is mounted at the end section of the excavated ditch 2, the ditch 2 is excavated, and the impervious sheet 13b is extracted from the impervious sheet holder 3 in parallel with excavation works and arranged into the ditch 2. The ditch 2, in which the impervious sheet 13b is disposed, is buried.
