PURPOSE: To accurately and efficiently perform operations for drilling a long- sized hole in a working face when cracking bedrock and for inserting a rock cracking device into the long-sized hole to crack the bedrock.
CONSTITUTION: A guide block 3 loaded with a drill 4 having a drilling bit 5a provided at the end of a rod 5 via an articulated boom 2 is disposed on a base machine 1. A drilling position 4 on the guide block 3 is set by the articulated boom 2 to a predetermined drilling position for the working face of bedrock and in a predetermined drilling direction and then a long-sized hole B is drilled while its position and direction of drilling are detected from the refraction angle of the joint of the articulated boom 2. After the long-sized hole B has been drilled, a rock cracking device 9 disposed on the base machine 1 is inserted into the long-sized hole B according to numerical detected values of the hole.
