Abstract:

PURPOSE: To measure the development of TNF by bringing blood into contact with a material with the surface roughness, whose average central-line roughness is within a specified range, and inducing the development of tumor necrosis factor(TNF).

CONSTITUTION: Blood is gathered, and the entire blood or the diluted blood is added to a plate well, a test tube or the like. The surface roughness within a specified range is imparted on the bottom surface or the side wall of the inner surface of the well or the like in order to induce the development of TNF from cells. Or a material having the surface roughness is filled. When the blood is cultured by using this container, the material, on which the surface roughness is imparted, reacts with the bloods, and the development of the TNF is induced. The organismic reaction with regard to immunity, inflammation or the like can be grasped by measuring the amount of the development of the TNF. For inducing the development of the TNF, the material having irregularities of the following values on the surface is recommendable: the average central-line roughness, Ra value, is 0.2-20μm, preferably, 0.2-10μm; and preferably, the average irregularity interval of the surface roughness, Sm value, is 200μm or less.
