Title:
METHOD FOR INSPECTING SURFACE SUBJECTED TO WATER REPELLENT TREATMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3314668
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the characteristics of water repellent film, especially for inspecting a surface subjected to water repellent treatment by impregnating and swelling a polymer film with a liquid and observing shrinkage after the film is dried.
SOLUTION: The method for evaluating a surface subjected to water repellent treatment comprises a step for impregnating a polymer film 1 with a liquid, i.e., water or a solvent, a step for applying the impregnated and swelled polymer film 1 of a given size to a surface 3 subjected to water repellent treatment, and a step for evaluating the water repellent properties by evaporating the impregnated liquid and observing shrinkage of the polymer film 1 before and after evaporation. Furthermore, the polymer film 1 is colored by adding a dye to the liquid and the water repellent properties is evaluated by observing shrinkage of the polymer film before and after evaporation based on the gray level of the color.
