To provide a method for installing a cable in a hoistway of an elevator capable of suspending a communication cable which is not related to an elevator equipment or the operation of the elevator in the hoistway of the elevator without depending on the elevator equipment, and rapidly and reliably, and additionally installing the communication cable.
A communication cable fixing bracket 7 for suspending a communication cable 6 to be additionally installed in a hoistway 1 of an elevator is provided on a wall surface 5 of the hoistway of the elevator. In order to hold the communication cable 6 at other parts, a communication cable clamping bracket 8 for clamping the communication cable 6 on the wall surface 5 of the hoistway of the elevator is provided on a guide rail 4 of a car.
