To control the insertion resistance efficiently during insertion of a regeneration pipe into an existing pipe.
During insertion of a regeneration pipe 32 into an existing pipe 30, a sealing implement 10 is arranged at a position corresponding to an insertion-resistant portion, e. g. a bent portion 36, of the existing pipe 30 to form a sealing space 48 in a part of the inside of the regeneration pipe 32. After a part of the regeneration pipe 32 is softened by heating the sealing space 48, the regeneration pipe 32 is towed over a specified distance so as to allow the softened part of the regeneration pipe 32 to pass through the bent portion 36. While the heating position for the regeneration pipe 32 is changed by transferring the sealing implement 10 successively to backward positions by the distance of towing of the regeneration pipe 32, the regeneration pipe 32 is inserted into the existing pipe 30.
