Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain the shape in the width direction of a rolled material while preventing the development of flaw caused by a gap to the rolled material so as to be able to correct a detected signal from a shape detecting roller covered with a lining layer on the outer peripheral surface to a true value.
SOLUTION: In a method for detecting the shape of the rolled material by synchronously rotating the shape detecting roller 4 parallel arranging plurality of pressure sensors 14 along the axial direction and covering the outer peripheral surface with the continued lining layer 5 in the axial direction so as to bring into contact with the rolled material to obtain the shape in the width direction of the rolled material based on the detected signal from each pressure sensor 14 detected at this time, a calibration factor K is beforehand collected by measuring the detected signals transmitted with these pressure sensors 14 in the case of applying the known load from the outside of one lining layer 5 the plurality of pressure sensors 14 and the other pressure sensors 14. Then, a correcting calculation is performed while taking the calibration factor K account into the detected signal detected with each pressure sensor 14 in the actual operation.
