To absorb a recess or a wrinkle of a material to be printed and to improve transferability by disposing an elastic material made of a polymer material on a lower surface of the material to be printed and transferring it.

An elastic material 2 made of a polymer material is provided underneath a material 1 to be printed, and they are supported by a support 3. The method for intaglio offset printing comprises the steps of filling ink in a recess part of an intaglio 5 formed with a predetermined recess part, then moving ink onto a material 4 to be transferred, and transferring the ink to the material 1. A hardness of the material 2 is preferably a rubber hardness of 20 to 70 degrees, and its thickness is normally preferably 0.1 mm or above. As the polymer material, for example, rubber, sponge, foamed sheet, nonwoven fabric or the like can be selected. As the rubber, urethane rubber, silicone rubber fluororubber, Neoprene rubber, butyl rubber acrylic rubber, butadiene rubber or natural rubber is used. As the foamed sheet, a sheet made of urethane is used. As a result, a pressing pressure to the material to be transferred to the material to be printed is strengthened, and a recess or irregularity of the material to be printed can be absorbed.
