The diaphragm wall has a plurality of rectangular panel wall bodies (a), (b), (c) continuously formed in the horizontal direction, and each panel wall body (a), (b), (c) has wall bodies a1, b1, c1 and sheathed pipes a2, b2, c2 buried into these wall bodies. The opening edges of each sheathed pipe a2, b2, c2 are arranged so as to be placed at the connecting placing-joint sections A of the wall bodies a1, b1, c1. The pit excavation of the inside surrounded by the panel walls (a), (b), (c) is conducted when the panel walls (a), (b), (c) are formed by connection and the diaphragm wall is constructed completely, and inserting holes a5 are formed by communication with both end sides of the sheathed pipes a2 when the pit excavation is finished. When the inserting holes a5 are formed by communication with both end sides of the sheathed pipe a2 at that time, prestressed steel materials are inserted into the sheathed pipe a2 and the inserting holes a5, and the steel materials are fixed under the state that tensile force is introduced.
