Abstract:
To provide a method for selectively isolating L-arabinose from a solution containing L-arabinose and D-xylose obtained by hydrolysis with an acid or an enzyme of corn grain hulls, corn cobs or the like.
This method for isolating L-arabinose comprises characteristically treating a solution including L-arabinose and D-xylose as main saccharides with a yeast that selectively assimilates D-xylose.
