A sample 6 containing two or more kinds of microorganisms 1-5 and a liquid 7 are stored in the interior of an isolating container 8, a directional external stimulus S is applied to the microorganisms 1-5 stored in the interior of the isolating container 8 for a predetermined time, and the taxis reaction is caused in the microorganisms 1-5 by the external stimulus S. The interior of the isolating container 8 is divided into a plurality of blocks M1-M7 along the direction T1 of applying the external stimulus S, and the liquid 7 in the respective blocks M1-M7 is extracted and recovered to the outside.
