PURPOSE: To improve service to customer service and the utilization of an automatic transaction device by discriminating the issue of a new bankbook in accordance with contents written in a new bankbook issue discrimination part formed on a magnetic stripe of a bankbook by an automated equipment.

CONSTITUTION: When a customer selects an entering transaction and inserts a bankbook, the automatic transaction device(ATD) reads out the magnetic stripe of the bankbook, and when the bankbook is a transferred bankbook and a new bankbook has not been issued yet, prints out a collated mark on the bankbook and temporarily stores the bankbook in its inside. The ATD delivers the stored new bankbook and prints out prescribed items to be written such as a customer's account number on its cover and the reverse side. Then the ATD prints out the amount transferred from the old bankbook on the new bankbook, writes prescribed items such as a branch number and an account number on the magnetic stripe of the new bankbook and returns the new bankbook to the customer. Issued data are written in the new bankbook issue discrimination part of the magnetic stripe of the old bankbook and the old bankbook is also returned. Consequently, a customer generating bankbook transfer can obtain a new bankbook even after closing a bank.
