PURPOSE: To make the restricting space of a heating part small and to improve the efficiency of straightening operation, by arranging a heating means and a straightening means oppositely to each other on both sides of a thin metallic plate, and straightening the plate by spotheating and quenching it.
CONSTITUTION: An attracting plate 4 is attached to one side of an outside plate 3, and a plasma torch 5 is set to the place located oppositely to the plate 4 and on the another side of the plate 3. The torch 5 generates a plasma flame against the plate 3 from the another side of it to rapidly heat a local part of the plate 3. The heated plate 3 transmits its heat to a contacting part 9 at the backside of heating part and to other parts to be rapidly cooled. The restriction by attraction of the plate 3 by the plate 4 is performed through almost its whole surface, then the plate 3 is restrictedly attracted by the whole surface of plate 4 by evacuating the air in the grooved part of a closed space formed by the plates 3 and 4.
