To provide a method for knitting a knitted fabric by which a first knit part and a second knit part are held at proper positions to improve the operability of a setting operation carried out after the knitting by using a flat knitting machine.

The method for knitting the knitted fabric includes parallelly knitting the first knit part and the second knit part constituting a base knitted fabric by a base yarn by using the flat knitting machine. The method includes the step of entwining an insertion yarn different from the base yarn with a bundle-target stitch selected from each of the first knit part and the second knit part in the step of knitting the base knitted fabric. Transfer for reciprocating at least one of the bundle-target stitches between front and rear needle beds, and reciprocal entrainment of the insertion yarn to the bundle-target stitch are carried out in combination in the step for entwining the insertion yarn. With the progress of the knitting of the base knitted fabric, the step of entwining the insertion yarn in the bundle-target stitch is repeated in the other bundle-target stitch positioned on a different course of the base knitted fabric to temporally tacking the first knit part to the second knit part by the insertion yarn.
