PURPOSE: To uniformly apply a lining material to the inner surface of a vertical pipe by preventing running by inserting a cylindrical holding member in the vertical pipe and subsequently drawing a lining body upwardly from the position on the lower end side of the holding member to raise the same.

CONSTITUTION: A holding member 1 is pushed in a vertical pipe 8 while rotated around the center axis of the vertical pipe 8 with respect to the spiral direction of a coil spring 2. The holding layer K of a lining material due to the holding member 1 is formed so as to cover the spiral space formed by the coil spring by a net cylinder 3. Thereafter, the known proper lining material 9 is injected in the vertical pipe 8 on the upper side of a lining body 4 and the lining body 4 is drawn upwardly. Since the lining material 9 is strongly held by the holding layer K, the running due to gravity in the longitudinal direction D of the vertical pipe is not generated. Moreover, the lining material 9 is held by the holding layer K formed to the whole inner surface of the vertical pipe 8.
