Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a connecting rod which has a difference in width between a large end and a small end and desired tolerances in positions and desired dimensional accuracies of a large diameter hole and a small diameter hole.
SOLUTION: A reference hole for machining and a reference plane for machining are formed by provisionally machining a small diameter hole 2 and a side of a connecting rod 1 and the small diameter hole 2 and a large diameter hole are finished at the same time by using the reference hole for machining and the reference plane for machining, whereby tolerances in positions of the large diameter hole and the small diameter hole are insured. When the small diameter hole 2 is machined for the reference hole for machining, a deep spot facing 5 is made. The small end 3 is cut to a prescribed width at the last process of machining to expose a part of the deep spot facing 5 and to make a chamfer of the small diameter hole 2. Since burrs are not made on the inside wall of the small diameter hole 2 at the last machining process, the dimensional accuracy is not deteriorated.
