To provide yarns which can be dyed in various colors capable of expressing such irregular appearances, washed-out appearances or worn-out appearances as those of denims.

This method for producing the yarns capable of being dyed with dyes used for nylon yarns or wool in ring-like or splashed patterns comprises coating the surfaces of the yarns incapable of being dyed with the dyes used for nylon yarns or wool with a cationic compound to form the coating film.
