To provide a method for making a lithographic printing plate, having a hydrophilic layer containing a hydrophilic binder as a non-image part, the unnecessary image part and the soil of which are cleaned with the help of a plate face correction fluid containing a chemical compound which changes to a hydrophilic and water-resistant film by application and drying, and which retains a suitability for printing and plate making by a scan image exposure system using a laser beam.
This method for making a lithographic printing plate is characterized in that the unnecessary image part of the lithographic printing plate having a hydrophilic layer containing a hydrophilic binder as a non-image part and the soil are cleaned with the help of the plate face correction fluid containing a chemical compound which changes to a hydrophilic and water- resistant film by application and drying. The correction fluid preferably contains an organic polymer integrating resin and a hydrophilic sol-like inorganic particle and further, preferably contains an organic hydrophilic polymer which has at least either of a hydroxyl group, a carboxylic acid group, a sulfonic acid group and an amide group and a crosslinking component which can crosslink this polymer.
