Abstract:
To provide a method capable of managing the thickness of a surface layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor even which has an antireflection layer between the surface layer and a photoconductive layer.SOLUTION: A method for managing the thickness of a surface layer of an electrophotographic photoreceptor includes in this order: a step (1) of measuring the hight of a protrusion existing on a surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, so as to acquire information on the protrusion; a step (2) of polishing the protrusion; and a step (3) of measuring the height of the protrusion after the polishing and a diameter of a part of the protrusion, which is exposed to a photoconductive layer, so as to acquire information on the protrusion after the polishing. The thickness of the surface layer is managed by calculating the thickness of the surface layer from both types of information acquired in the step (1) and the step (3).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
