Abstract:
This adhesive composition is obtained by emulsion-polymerizing a vinyl acetate monomer in the presence of an ethylene-modified polyvinyl alcohol to form seed particles and then emulsion-polymerizing an acetoacetoxy-containing copolymerizable monomer with the seed particles. As the acetoacetoxy-containing copolymerizable monomer, it is preferred to use the (meth)acrylic and acetoacetic ester of an alkylene glycol. This adhesive composition is an environmentally friendly adhesive composition which has excellent water resistance and hot-water resistance, does not take a color with the lapse of time, and has excellent storage stability at high temperatures.
