Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing an adhesive optical retardation film with an excellent adhesive property of the adhesive layer to an optical retardation film without any appearance defect of the optical retardation film surface by a relatively simple device with excellent productivity.

The method for manufacturing the adhesive optical retardation film by laminating the adhesive layer to at least one surface of the optical retardation film obtained by stretching a norbornene-based film, is characterized by making the surface free energy of the optical retardation film surface to which the adhesive layer is to be laminated 60 mN/m or higher with plasma irradiation under atmospheric pressure and subsequently laminating the adhesive layer thereto.
