To sufficiently secure geometry accuracy and dimension accuracy of outer ring raceways 11a, 11b even in a case of manufacturing a structure directly joining and fixing a caliper or a support constructing a disk brake on an outer ring 6a.
When parts of an inner circumference surface of the outer ring 6a to be the outer ring race ways 11a, 11b, an axial direction outer end surface of the outer ring 6a is joined to a backing plate 34 joined and fastened to a rotary shaft 33 of an electric motor 32. An axial direction inner end part of the outer ring 6a is gripped by a chuck 37 supported rotatably in relation to a fixed part. A side surface of the chuck 37 is pressed against an axial direction inner end surface of the outer ring 6a, and the outer ring 36 is gripped from axial direction both sides by the backing plate 34 and the chuck 37. The outer ring 36 is rotated under this condition and a grinding tool is abutted and slid on the part of the inner circumference surface of the outer ring 36 to be the outer ring raceways 11a, 11b.
