Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing cationized glycerol cellulose capable of adding excellent sliding property, maintenance feeling thereof and coat feeling during rinsing hair when blended to a hair cosmetic such as a hair cleaner and a hair cosmetic composition.SOLUTION: There are provided [1] a method for manufacturing cationized glycerol cellulose obtained by reacting raw material cellulose selected from cellulose and a cellulose derivative, at least glycidol and a cationization agent, having a process of reacting raw material cellulose and glycidol in presence of a basic compound of over 0.9 mol equivalent and 1.6 mol equivalent or less per 1 mole of an anhydroglucose unit in the raw material cellulose in a solvent of 10 mass% to 200 mass% based on a cellulose part of the raw material cellulose (Process 1), a process of mixing a reaction mixture 1 obtained in the Process 1 with acid to adjust the amount of the basic compound at 0.1 mol equivalent to 0.9 mol equivalent per 1 mole of the anhydroglucose unit in the raw material cellulose and further reacting raw material cellulose and glycidol (Process 2), and a process of adding the cationization agent after the Process 2 and reacting to obtain cationized glycerol cellulose (Process 3), and [2] a hair cosmetic composition containing cationized glycerol cellulose obtained by the manufacturing method [1], a surfactant and water.
