In a method for manufacturing the ceramic body for obtaining the ceramic body 10 of a structure wherein the cell 2 is alternately sealed on both end faces of a ceramic honeycomb structure by filling a sealing slurry 7 into a specific cell 2 on both end faces of a ceramic honeycomb molded body 1, a sealer 3 is beforehand filled in the cell desired to be opened on the end face of the ceramic honeycomb molded body 1, and the face in which a masking sealer 3 is filled is dipped into the sealing slurry 7. The sealing slurry 7 is filled in the specific cell 2 in which the masking sealer 3 is not filled. Thereafter, it is dried and burnt, and the masking sealer 3 is removed in drying or burning.
