To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter, capable of forming a contact hole in a tapered shape in formation of a color filter on an array substrate by use of a relief reverse offset printing method.

The method for manufacturing a color filter for forming a color filter with contact hole on an array substrate 1 by a relief reverse offset printing method includes a coating step of applying ink to a surface of a blanket 10 to have a uniform thickness to form an ink layer 11; a removing step of bringing a relief printing plate 13 of a predetermined shape into contact with the ink layer 11 to transfer and remove an unnecessary part of the ink layer 11 onto a protruding part 14 of the relief printing plate 13; and a transfer step of transferring the ink layer 11 left on the surface of the blanket 10 to the array substrate 1. The protruding part 14 of the relief printing plate 13 includes a first protruding part 14a corresponding to a contact hole and a second protruding part 14b other than the first protruding part 14a, the first protruding part 14a being larger in height than the second protruding part 14b.
