Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing a core for a deflection yoke which is always divisible at predetermined places, by stably generating a predetermined amount of difference of thermal expansion between the outer surface and the inner surface of core materials in the process of dividing the core materials.
CONSTITUTION: A predetermined hollow cylindrical core material 2a is formed out of ferrite, and a stripe channel is made in the surface of predetermined places where the core material 2a is divided. At least one of both open ends of the core material 2a is blocked and immersed into a heated liquid 6 to heat the core material 2a from the outside. The core material 2a is divided at the places where the stripe channel is made by means of the internal stress caused by the difference of thermal expansion between the outer surface and the inner surface of the core material 2a.
