Abstract:

To separate and remove an imide group compound or it's decomposition products efficiently when a dicarboxylic acid corresponding to a cycloalkane is obtained from a reaction mixture obtained by oxidizing the cycloalkane using oxygen in the presence of a catalyst of the imide group compound.

This method for manufacturing the dicarboxylic acid is to obtain the dicarboxylic acid corresponding to the cycloalkane from the reaction mixture obtained by bringing the cycloalkane into contact with oxygen in the presence of the imide group compound having a cyclic imide skeleton indicated in formula (I) [wherein (n) indicates 0 or 1, X indicates oxygen atom or OR group (R indicates hydrogen atom or a protecting group for hydroxy group)], in which a process to subject the reaction mixture to an ion-exchange resin treatment to separate the dicarboxylic acid corresponding to the cycloalkane from the imide compound or decomposition products from the imide compound, is included.
