To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner in which electrostatic charge controlling agent particles are uniformly fixed near the surfaces of toner matrix particles containing a releasing agent which is a low-melting point substance, in which separation of the electrostatic charge controlling agent particles, fusion of the low-melting point material and agglomeration of toner particles are prevented and which is uniform in the amount of electric charges and does not cause deterioration of a developer.
In the method for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner in which toner matrix particles consisting essentially of a binder resin, a colorant and a releasing agent and an electrostatic charge controlling agent are mixed by stirring by rotating a rotator having stirring blades in a fluidized stirring type mixing apparatus fitted with at least the rotator to fix the electrostatic charge controlling agent on the surfaces of the toner matrix particles, the rotator is rotated at 65-120 m/s peripheral speed within the temperature range of Tg-10>T>Tg-35 (T is the temperature (°C) of the internal atmosphere of the apparatus during mixing by stirring and Tg is the glass transition temperature (°C) of the powdery resin).
