Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method advantageous for small-lot multi-product production with reduction mill load to manufacture product pipes of good surface quality and superior material uniformity in the circumferential direction of the pipe.
SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a strip S is made into an open pipe P through continuous roll forming (roll former 5), then into a material pipe M through electroseam welding (open edge heater 6, squeeze roll 7), and then into a product pipe C through stretch reducing (reducer 8). In this case, the strip and/or open pipe is heated to the temperature area exceeding ordinary temperature but lower than point Ac3 (heating furnace 4 and/or open pipe heater), and stretch reducing is done in the temperature area of point Ac3 to 125°C.
