To provide a method by which an electrostatic charge image developing toner excellent in transferability can be manufactured.
The method for manufacturing an electrostatic charge image developing toner comprises a step (1) of obtaining small-particle-diameter particles having a volume average particle diameter of 3-10 μm by pulverizing a composition containing a binder resin and a colorant and having an average particle diameter of 80-500 μm with a mechanical pulverizer and classifying the resulting pulverized powder, and a step (2) of mixing the small-particle-diameter particles obtained in the step (1) and fine particles (A) having an average particle diameter of 0.1-2 μm. An electrostatic charge image developing toner obtained by the manufacturing method is also provided, and the toner has a volume average particle diameter of 4-8 μm.
