To provide a grinding method by which uniform highly flat metal powder can be continuously manufactured while shortening grinding time.
The method for manufacturing the flat powder by subjecting particulate metal powder prepared by an atomizing process to plastic deformation comprises the following steps: a first grinding step wherein grinding is carried out together with an auxiliary agent for grinding by the use of a dry mill using grinding medium while removing, by suction, fine particles of ≤1 μm generated during the grinding; and a second grinding step wherein the resultant powder from the above grinding step is ground to a prescribed particle size with the addition of an auxiliary agent for grinding by the use of a dry mill or a wet mill using grinding medium.
